This is a fantastic opportunity to support
adventurous souls who will cycle nearly 600km across the North
Eastern region and national parks of Thailand entering Cambodia
through the Northern Border - all in an effort to raise money
for cancer charities!

All proceeds from 'The Challenge' will be shared
equally between Myton Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Route

Bangkok is beyond simple description.
It is an experience that cannot be duplicated anywhere else
in the world. Here you can still witness the essential old Bangkok
that was founded in 1782 to become the fourth capital city of
Thailand with the beginning of the Chakri Dynasty. Today the
modern blends with the old along the banks of the Chao Phraya
River and the inner city moats and canals.

Angkor is one of the most
important archaeological sites in South East Asia. Stretching
over some 400 sq. km., including forested areas and Angkor Archaeological
Park, it contains magnificent remains from the various periods
of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century. These
include the famous Angkor Wat and, at Angkor Tom, the Bayon
Temple with its countless sculptural decorations. UNESCO has
set up a wide range of programmes to safeguard this symbolic
site.

Along the way the riders will experience the
natural and historic beauty of Thailand and Cambodia.
The Charities

Around 3800 people are diagnosed with cancer
in Coventry and Warwickshire, England, every year and they need
treatment and support. Macmillan Cancer Support can
help by providing:
Health specialists: People in Coventry and
Warwickshire already benefit from nearly 60 macmillan professionals,
macmillan nurses, doctors and therapists who are specialists
in cancer care. they help people manage their symptoms and aim
to make living with cancer easier.
Someone to talk to: Macmillan is there for
people with cancer, their families and friends to talk, listen
and understand what they are going through. Macmillan supports
a network of self-help and support groups around the UK.
Financial help: Having cancer can bring extra
costs - hospitals, parking and traveling costs, extra heating,
different clothes. macmillan can help - last year they gave
more that £64,000 in Macmillan grants to help with some
of these costs. Macmillan believes that no one should be financially
deprived as a result of their illness.
Clear information: Having the right information
about cancer at the right time is essential. the Macmillan Cancerline
provides free information and emotional support for people living
with cancer and now they have Macmillan Youthline, especially
for people aged 12 - 21. Last year their trained advisors helped
more than 250 people.

Warwick Myton Hospice is currently
the only hospice providing in-patient care for the people of
Coventry and Warwickshire. Each year up to 500 patients stay
in the unit and up to 1,00 attend the day centres. Myton also
runs a Hospice at Home service which provides carers with support
and offers them the chance to take some time out for themselves,
knowing that their loved one is in good and capable hands.
The building of a new Myton Hospice in Coventry
will mean that they can almost double the number of patients
they look after each year and ensure more people can experience
special care. Running the new hospice will cost in excess of
£5 million each year. Taking part in 'The Challenge' is
a fabulous way to help!
